2006 Fall Campout
Our Pack went on a campout at Ensign Ranch during the first weekend in October. We had the entire "Yakima" area which is well-named as it runs alongside the Yakima river. We spent a sunny Saturday afternoon fishing and canoeing in Crabtree Lake, and exploring our campground. The Wolves and Bears prepared hamburgers, hotdogs, and chili for dinner, while the Webelos got a nice campfire going. After dinner each Den performed skits, jokes, and songs, we ate s'mores and told campfire stories. Only the hardiest of the Cub Scouts stayed up for ghost stories, and even they went to bed wide-eyed and pale...
Sunday morning we were treated to pancakes, scrambled eggs, and sausages by the Webelos I Den. After breaking down and stowing all of our gear, we started our activities with a uniform check. We then took a nice hike to the archery range where we got to try out our new archery gear and fly high on a rope swing. The Tigers and Webelos II Dens served us sandwiches for lunch after our hike back to camp. We left Ensign Ranch in the early afternoon after we finished breaking down camp and cleaning up any litter in our area (practicing leave no trace). Our campout should provide the boys with fond memories of Scouting for years to come. Thanks to all the parents for pitching in and making this a fun experience for everyone. If you didn't make this campout, make sure you sign-up for the Spring campout next year. Until then, enjoy the photos below.
