Native American Stories 2006

Roger Fernandes, a Native American Storyteller Artist from the Klallam Tribe near Port Angeles, joined us again this year and regaled us with traditional stories of local Washington Tribes. Roger has told excellent stories for us for the last three years, and this year was no exception. He demonstrated a rain-maker used by young Native Americans to summon rain, and then told us several great stories including how the ants and bears decided when it would be night and when it would be day. This last story required some audience participation, and our Scouts were definitely up to the challenge! Thanks again Roger for a great night of stories!

Prior to Roger's stories, Jeff Frey announced our popcorn sales numbers, and thanks to the hard work from a majority of the Scouts in our Pack, we exceeded last years numbers by more than 20 percent! Jeff handed out prizes to most of the boys including big prizes for the top four sellers. Our top four this year included two veteran Webelos II Scouts in first and second place and two Wolf Scouts taking third and fourth. Be sure to tell Jeff thanks for all his hard work as the Pack Popcorn Kernel this year.
